I posted about this before:
"KK" stands for comfirming. Instant KK in Aeroplan terms mean taking a revenue seat and converting it into an award seat for you.
So for a Super Elite, it doesn't matter whether there are D or W seats left. If the flight is not oversold, Aeroplan will take a J booking class seat and queue it to the route controller to get it converted to D (or Y booking class to W).
