The original forum lounge thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum.
While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge, that doesn't mean that the FT rules don't apply here (they definitely do), please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

Greetings all from Taipei, Taiwan! (a favorite place that looked all but impossible to visit as 2021 & 2022 began).
The fireworks nearby reminded me it was time to post the new thread and lock that old 2022 one!
Reminder that most of us have a few short hours to do important stuff like:
- make a new year's resolution,
- check in for our first flights of 2023
- screenshot any yearly status from any programs before they are zeroed out

I left Vancouver about 10 days ago to escape the uncharacteristic (but more and more common) snowing winter for the sunny Southern California, only to find almost every day I spent there was more or less a raining/pouring/drizzling one.
It just appears I have bought some of the incessant Vancouver winter rain wherever I go.
And now stuck in an atmospheric river in the middle of California Central Valley to cap off my 2022.

I am leaving REP no earlier than the evening of Jan 29 and leaving BKK on AC the morning of the 31st so BKK would be convenient on the 30th.

What a crazy game at the World Juniors! I thought for sure this was going to be one of those nights where we dominated but lost to a hot goalie. But Connor Bedard is a one-man wrecking crew!
