1A is my goto, unless, as Nitehawk said, you can get a DF pair. In which case I'd take 1DF.

I'm a similar height to you and always go for 2A, 3A or 4A. 1A feels cramped when there's nowhere to put your feet.

I'm generally not a fan of 1ADF thanks to not having any underseat storage for bags, and I like having my purse handy. It's not as bad on 722-729 (the new atmosphere equipped 900s) since the bins on the A side will actually fit my purse.

Note these fins don't have WiFi or PTVs, but the J class bins are large, like bags actually go in wheels first ( note I'm working on getting bin sizes and baggage pictures for everyone for the 3 cabin types in the fleet Right now.)

CRJ900 seat width in exit row?

Hey all -

I recently flew SAN-YVR and back on a CRJ900 and picked seat 20D thinking it would be better than any of the other economy seats and seatguru didn't say anything bad about it. Well, I am a bit rotund, and found the seat to be rather uncomfortable width wise. With the solid walls on each side it seems lot more narrow than the other seats, but I wasn't about to stay on that plane any longer to try some of them before getting off. Are those seats actually 17 inches, the same as the rest of the the economy cabin? Maybe someone else with more experience can comment? I pretty much never want to be stuck back there in that seat again.

Was the table in the armrest or in the seat back in front of you?

From Seatguru

Normally I love emergency exit seats, knowing they may have slightly less padding or have the tray tables in the arm rests, and even checked out Seatguru prior to getting it. However, my butt is still not forgiving me 2 days later. The seats not only are 1/3rd SMALLER than the aisle seat, they're a hair LOWER, and also have the tray table in the seatback locked, so you have to use the one in the armrests. I was hoping the Air Canada Jazz CRJ 900 seats would have been like those on American Eagle, but no. They went with the torture seats. Never again in row 19 or 20. The legroom is nice, though.

Armrest, which makes me think narrower.

Exit rows are horrible in the CRJs and ER-wahtevers.

Is it really a question?

Yeah, that is what I seem to have learned.

ERJ175s don't have exit rows, and the 190s are gone

Does anyone have any photos of the cabins on the new Jazz CR9s? Are the entertainment systems updated or are they removed altogether?

I apologize if this was answered above.

The newest CR9s (722-730, with the new atmosphere cabins) do not *yet* have Wifi or IFE installed, and Jazz hasn't said much about it, there are rumors, but they're just that.

In summery

701-721 - WiFi and IFE (The original Thalas system) 110v outlets in J and up to row 16 (plus the USB on the IFE)
722-730 - No WiFi or IFE 110v+USB outlets at every row
780-784 - WiFi no IFE, 110v Outlets at every row

I was on one of the ex-Skywest aircraft when they entered the fleet, but haven’t been on one one of the brand new ones.

Hopefully they get IFE/Wi-Fi soon!

Lucky me. My CR9 for Wednesday's YYT-YUL is fin 712 with the old Thalas system.

CRJ - 900 Seating

Not a regular flyer of AC and this aircraft. I recall a thread a few years ago talking about the seating but can't find it.

If I recall the preferred seats on this plane are row 12 and specifically D/F otherwise row 20 exit. Is that correct? I'm assuming a curtain or nothing between business and econ? Is there a bin above 12 that accommodates full size roll aboard?

AC681 Feb 15, 2022 12:53 am

I'd say the best seats are 12 A,D,F .

12C has essentially unlimited leg room, however it's in line with the asle coming from J, so nothing to stop people from bumping Into you, also you don't have anywhere to store bags at your feet.

Exit rows I find a bit of a mixed bag, and tend to avoid. Armrests are immoveable, so I find the seats aren't particularly wide, and the window seats slant down a bit to leave space for the window exit to come in, I also find them cold. At least row 20 reclines, 19 does not.

As far as bag storage goes. 12DF has a full sized overhead bin (well full sized for the 900 anyway;)) 12AC does not and needs to use the bin at 13AC
