Use Aeroplan for check-in and MLL benefits but earn on United?
I have a TD Aeroplan credit card that provides certain check-in related benefits on AC flights such as free checked bags, priority baggage handling and access to MLL. These benefits are all associated to my Aeroplan number.
Can I login to AC and change the FF number associated to my AC reservation after check-in but before take-off to United so I can earn MileagePlus miles instead of Aeroplan but still get the check-in benefits from Aeroplan?

You can, though it's not always easy to get a lounge dragon or GA to do it, especially if the program you're switching to isn't the one who's metal you're flying or who's lounge you're using.
The SK apps lets me switch to Eurobonus if I have SK metal on the booking and it works right up until boarding. Even lets you change each leg separately but the AC app does not have this feature.

You can switch yourself using online checkin up until checkin cutoff.
use a mobile boarding pass or have the lounge reprint you one.
Otherwise switch at the gate.
Lots of people do it, especially since AC started handing out status matches.
Even after eupgrades have cleared you can easily make the switch. Done it a couple times this year.

It credits (at least to United) with the original booking class.
