Short checking bags on a 12-hr day time layover?

I am just wondering if Air Canada will let me short check my bags on a flight YYZ-MUC-AMS. The layover in MUC is roughly 12.5 hours (lands at 7:45AM and depart at 8:10PM) - (flying business for what it's worth)

Presuming that is 8:10 PM
If it is a ticket from YYZ to AMS with a stopover in MUC, then your bags should be checked through to final destination.
