AC restructuring it's community involvement programs

Hey--while you're restructuring the whole airline, why not take the opportunity to change some PR things? Is this rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic?

MONTREAL, Sept. 29 /CNW Telbec/ - On Wednesday, October 1, Air Canada
will announce at a news conference a major partnership with 13 Canadian
children's hospitals and foundations across Canada.
Robert Milton, President and Chief Executive Officer, Air Canada will
announce the comprehensive airline/hospital partnership and will unveil a new
look for Air Canada's community investment programs Canada-wide.

WHO : Robert Milton and special guests

WHAT : Announcement of Canada-wide children's hospital partnership

WHERE : Air Canada headquarters, 7373 Cte-Vertu West, Saint-Laurent

WHEN : 10 - 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2003

PHOTO OPP : A colorful opportunity with VIPs (tall and small!), a uniquely-liveried aircraft open for visiting, lively children's activities.

Maybe Ken can attend and maybe they'll be serving pie! Well, you never know...

No, just moving from frivolous sponsorships like golf tournaments and auto races, to more socially relevent ones like hospitals and children's services. AC can still provide things like free seats and other similar non-monetary services while it undergoes reorganization. Not 100% of its HQ staff is focused on reorg matters. These changes have been in the works for over a year as AC advised many of its previous sponsorship clients that it was changing the focus of this program.

So I really do not understand why people assume companies and governments cannot handle multiple subjects simultaneously, just because the media gets fixated on one subject at a time?
