FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: Adam Smith
This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition , 2017 edition, 2018 edition, 2019 edition, and 2020 edition.

The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum that are better discussed on other forums. FT is an amazingly diverse and large community so members are encouraged to seek out all of its resources.

While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

The wind is howling in YYT tonight! Hurricane Larry is really hammering us. Watching the power go out all around my house and now it is just a waiting game before ours inevitably goes.

Heard from my daughter at MUN this morning. She slept through the whole thing, and has power this morning. Lucky her.

Expect a hurricane to hit wherever my son goes to school in four years time. Dorian hit NS a few days after daughter #1 started at SMU. Now Larry hits NL a few days after daughter #2 starts at MUN. I suppose if I send him to U of A or U of C he should be safe.

Looking forward to tuning in to canadiancow 's guest appearance tonight at 4pm PST with the chief churner in Canada, Prince of Travel. Head over to the YouTube page to see him in action.

Would not have predicted this cameo appearance from the cow.

If I send him to NYU or Columbia it could cause billions in damages.

Well I cancelled four trips for the rest of the year, meaning I'll be at home 5 more weekends than previously expected.

I guess COVID isn't quite over

For the record, I was not the one that asked the Cow if "He still dislikes churners" although I got a feeling he might have thought it might have been me who posed that question.

Re: Ted Lasso

Appreciated some of the references, including the Allen Iverson bit.

Can someone who has flown to EU (and preferably done some intra-EU travel) in the last few weeks please DM me? I’ve got a few questions and would rather ask a trusted source.

Note to the wise, do not fly out of YYT on a Saturday, and if you do, DO NOT show up early. The only thing open is a souvenir stand and a RELAY's. Even Tim Horton's is closed. I mean I expected that of the MLL, but no Yellow Belly, no Tim's?!
