I'm going to sound like I need to be spoon-fed, but I'm just going to ask instead of reading that 40 page thread:

With routings and mileage no longer applying, what does that mean for a multi-partner YYZ-TPE-AKL routing let's say? Is AC effectively selling is two separate tickets?

It's not that they don't apply, it's that you can now combine anything you want. Everything is priced as a one-way, with a surcharge for a stopover. So you can have 6 one-ways (5 destinations) plus 6 stopovers, effectively giving you any routing.

YYZ-TPE-AKL would be one bound at 75/105/140k miles in Y/J/F.

A shorter routing would be cheaper.

https://www.aircanada.com/content/da...s-chart-en.pdf and https://www.aircanada.com/us/en/aco/...an/redeem.html are good starting points.

Thanks. I started reading the prince of travel guide and I think I'm in deep now...will get to the bottom of understanding these. Will have to see how seasonality plays into the miles before planning the 2022 trip.
