Now I need to figure out why codfather 's mention didn't trigger an email to me ... I thought a mention used to do that ...
if you start typing an @ name, and select that name from the list of username options that drops down. It will only work if you finish manually typing it. DO NOT USE THE DROPDOWN. The dropdown creates a "tag" which does not result in a notification. Typing out the @ username creates a "mention" which does notify the person mentioned.
Is this stupid? Yes. Will it be fixed? No. I've been round and round, and some developer thought this made sense.
