Question: AC booking, connection with BA

AC booking, connection with BA
Hello,
unsure if if this is the correct forum for this question so apologies if not.
looking at buying a ticket on AC from Edinburgh to Ottawa in December.
The first leg of the journey offered by AC is with British Airways to London then Air Canada from London to Ottawa. Opposite way on way back, Ac to British airways.
I wasnt aware that Air Canada has any partnership with BA. So my question is this, can anyone confirm if I’ll need to collect and recheck my baggage in London on both outbound and inbound flights? Or would they go through to final destination for both?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
