My wedding caused a 320 swap to a 767.

Such a useless opinion. I calculate it at about 2.73093432%. Much more informed data.

Getting back to the serious part of it, I recently went through a number of bookings/cancellations / changes because I did not want my
family to fly on the 737 MAX on a route that has 2 flights a day - one on the 7M8 and the other on a 321.
What are the chances of a swap there, and what do I do about it if it happens?

Very small.

There is always a chance. I would suggest checking flightradar24 or something similar to see how often swap happens. If OP can provide more details about the route then we can probably provide some more useful information. Some routes are more likely to get swapped than others.

When are you travelling?
Airbus is on the way out as the Max's arrive.

The further out your date, they greater the chance of a swap.

I just received notice of a YVR-YUL swap to a 7M8 from a 320. Summer travel.

Plus, there aren't that many 788s now as there are 789s.

Are you referring to 873 or 877? Just a wild guess based on your handle.

Whoops, sorry, forgot the flight info: The flight is FRA-YCC; AC845.

Basically, what @Stranger and the others upthread have said/alluded to.
The chances are low, but there's always a chance.

FWIW, AC845 has operated as a 789 (and nothing but a 789) for at least the last 90 days straight.

Switches to a 772 for the summer though.

Yep. OP was just looking for end of December basically, so just trying to give more numbers regarding no metal type changes with the 789.

Much appreciated! I know of the route going through changes with the 789 during the winter and the 772 in the summer (been on a 77W on that route in summer as well) was just curious of the odds of it happening over christmas/new years as I would guess that more routes with holiday traffic will get larger capacity planes (eg. YYZ) and those routes who are possible not so frequented will get less capacity as a result...as long as AC will get me to YYC I am happy even if I do have a preference for the 787 over the 777.

Again, thanks all for your help! Very much appreciated.
