Important Event Notes
- Promo codes are not applicable to this event. Upgrades and AE redemptions are blocked by revenue management - you get what you pay for.
- No hockey puck beef will be served! If it is, send it back! (Unless that's actually what you like, you weirdo?)
- The Do website will be down for regularly scheduled maintenance. Often. But we won't bother to tell you in advance.
Important Event Notes (real ones this time!)
- The burger and Scotch theme is purely optional. Those are the specialties of the restaurant, but you're free to have a salad and a diet Coke, fish and white wine or whatever floats your boat.
- Buchanan's does weekly tasting flights for a slightly reduced price. We'll have access to a few of these from recent weeks for anyone who's interested.
- The Do host has not achieved Dorian's level of wealth and generosity. No T-shirts or other swag will be provided.
- Reservation is under Adam Smith, but that shouldn't really be necessary. We will be taking up most of the main dining room, to the left after walking into the restaurant.

I'm in Scotland right now, warming up for Saturday's event.
Looking forward to seeing everyone and thanks to those who have been firming up their attendance, or lack thereof, as applicable.

No, more like 7th-Tier. No swag? What is this? New Leaf?
Just a bunch of FOTSGs getting together to discuss their what, 25 flights a year? So noob.

If this is 7th tier, what would be the tier of my failed YVR micro mini do?

No, I'm going for a Ryanair quality experience.
(For those of you who haven't had the misfortune to fly Ryanair, it makes rouge look like paradise).
Our grandmas must live in REALLY remote places if it takes 12.5 segments to get there!

Sometimes there is no real alternative. We flew them twice, albeit not recently. How do you deal with having to be in Durham and Pisa at the same time? Fly them to Bergamo (sold as Milan) and drive in the rain.
Like, try going from OP to Dublin? That was 2006 if I remember right.
BTW count me in. My wife is leaving the day before so why not...

As for Ryanair, I've flown them before, so I speak from experience. I don't like to say "never", because things can come up, as you suggest, but I would go out of my way to avoid flying them again.

Dear FT community:
This is Steven767. In 2014 I made trips to Hawaii (OGG) for leisure, the Czech Republic (June) for my grandmother's funeral, in August to CUN to check out real estate, in November to HKG (first visit) and to Warsaw, Poland for Christmas 2014 to see my Polish extended family. This is the closest that I have ever come to being a frequent flier. I am there to meet as many of you as possible for the first time. I look forward to attending at Buchanan's. See you all there.
