Well, then AC 6 will have a twin.
As we can see here, the aircraft going out as AC 5 is coming back as AC 6.

Looks like the "cheap" J fare on 013 is no longer offered. Return flights are back up to 6 large.

Well, AC sold a number of tickets for $3,670 and it's onward/upward from there

But, the PE fare is still the same as it was on Aug 6 and the cabin is still mostly empty. Even more so on the return date I was looking at.

Could be just regular maintenance and not a full refurb

That's what I wrote a few days ago

When I found AC13 I figured $3,670 was a good J fare and I knew Japan wasn't in our budget this year but was hoping some of you guys might grab the bargain before AC decided enough is enough!

Hmm...I am booked on 013, but I just realized that it would be one of the few times in AC history that I could do a same day change for free on a direct flight to Narita and take the standard AC001 direct flight instead on the 789.

Pretty sure I won't , but ...

Just realized today this is actually the HD 777 they are using....

Oh well, in J I guess it's more or less the same as the regular version, just fewer seats.

C-FNNQ -mystery solved - but deepens

Many of us wondered what was going to happen when the special AC13 operated YYZ-NRT yesterday.

Flight was operated by C-FNNQ.

After disembarking passengers at NRT aircraft deadheaded down to SIN, dep NRT 14.37, arr SIN 17.31.
Interesting that it flew to SIN rather than QPG!

Flight number for NRT-SIN was AC7178 - which has been used before.

So, when C-FNNQ is available will it return to service in NRT or somewhere closer.
Perhaps the return will be as AC7179, athough that's been used before: QPG-YVR!

Bears watching folks as there might another "bargain" flight on the horizon, but from where to where?
Plumber likes this.

AC does some 777 maintenance in Singapore. If they are starting a maintenance rotation, they will likely swap it out via HND or HKG, which they have done in the past.

And I wrote this in the other thread back on Aug 24:

I met an AC pilot on one of my AC Flights back from Asia, who told me he flies AC aircraft to and from SIN for maintenance. Fascinating chat. We were actually returning on an aircraft that had just arrived from maintenance.

Some days I'm lucky and there is cool stuff like this.

Why no passengers on NRT - SIN?

If it is occuring regularly, why isn't AC selling NRT - SIN? No rights?

It's only happening for heavy maintenance events. So, not that regular.
