I believe there is a thread already - you might have to search for more answers.
As far as I remember there is full recline. The FAs sometimes use the space as storage. In fact I prefer 14 on long hauls because there is no one behind you because of the bulkhead. In the other rows (12-13) someone behind you will stand up using your seat as support and 'whiplash' you when you are asleep.

@piperdown
Seatguru is not always accurate and one should always look at AC's seat/cabin configuration on their website.

Not sure if you had a chance to search, but here is one thread for you

I fly the 787's, not the 777's but have never had a recline problem in row 14.

Having said that I do try to avoid it. 13C or bust!

Some master thread reading for the OP, @piperdown

Seats and Cabins on the B788, B789, and the 777 (3 versions)

Announcing Premium Economy & new 777-300ERs

Advice needed: Air Canada Long-haul Premium Economy or Preferred Seating in Economy

And because I'll be nice... I've sat in row 14 PY on the 777s many times, and it definitely reclines, but I never noticed any difference from row 13's recline. I've slept just fine in row 14 for a long haul.

Row 14 is my preferred row in PY. As @vernonc said, there is full recline, there is no seat grabbing from behind, and I have no guilt when I go full recline (because you're not intruding on anyone's space).

I find 14A and 14H to be the most "private" in PY, if you will. It's not truly private obviously, but there's something about being in the corner... maybe something like aft J window, like on the 333 and mainline 763.

Row 14 is fine, have flown in it twice this year.

Not sure if you have flown in AC's Premium Economy before, but enter it with low expectations of anything premium. It is economy plus.

It's definitely a mindset thing (setting (lower) expectations), but I haven't had any problems with the overall service based on what is advertised.

btw, you should post more here... it's nice to see you back here again

P.S. I did not notice this on my pod on the 789, but she was the new baby, fin 857 and so maybe AC hasn't yet installed there.

Forgot to reply to this... I actually noticed these last year on a few of my flights (roughly 300 DreamCabin flights, of which I noticed these on maybe 5 of them?), but always forgot to mention it here.

77W J Seating for Family of 3

Hi all,

I’m traveling with my parents on the 77W later this year. Currently, I’ve selected 1A, 2A, and 2D for the 3 of us.

While flying on the 789 last week, I noticed the D and G seats are offset quite a bit behind the A and K seats, such that 1D is actually a better seat for seeing / communicating with 2A. So I was considering switching us to 1A, 2A, and 1D.

But looking at seatmaps on AC.com, the offset on the 77W is less pronounced than that on the 789, prompting me to stick with my current selection.

However, on Seatguru, the amount of offset between the window and aisle seats look identical for the 77W and the 789, so now I just don’t know what to do.

Can someone confirm whether the 77W’s seat layout is closer to what’s shown on AC.com (less offset) or Seatguru (more offset)?

Many thanks!

I haven't measured the seat offset with tape, but I am 100% sure that on 777 1D is behind 1A, and ahead of 2A. So I would suggest 1D over 2D.

I'd consider 2A 3A 2D, or 2A 3A 3D since there are no centre bins above 1D 2D. Unless carryon space isn't that important
