Aeroplan Layoffs

I had heard that 100 Aeroplan agents were laid off yesterday. Anyone know if this is true?

On the other hand, getting rid a selected few of those agents would do the department a big favor and yes I do have specific names in mind.

One particular individual is #1 on my list. He works on the third floor in that secret room.

Aeroplan agents are represented by the CAW and that union had agreed to a program of job reductions, early retirements, etc. prior to AC's actions. However, all that is now voided and will be decided as part of the reorganization process. Also, Aeroplan operates as an independent subsidiary, with its own board of directors, management team, etc. And as such, it makes a profit.

I only hope we do not see the end of the Conceirge Service. These individuals have been extraordinary to those of us who are truly FFs. If they go, I will follow!

The 1,060 CAW agents (Aeroplan, Airport, & Reservation agents) are still going. That has not changed.
