I noticed that you were very quiet yesterday. I figured that you were having a blast travelling with a big group of FTers. Hope today is just as good and uneventful.

Well tonight was a crap show. Holy crap Montreal screwed the pooch.
I'm going to write in about this. Not for compensation, but because this was a bad experience for 4 people. Me, 2C, who moved to 2A, 2A, who moved to 22D, and 22D, who moved to 23F.
And I'm going to take a guess that 2A->22D is a lot more annoyed than I am.

Everything went smoothly. Upon arriving in YYZ, we went to the domestic lounge, because two of the six had a domestic connection.
Around one hour before our LAS and SFO flights, four of us went through US preclearance to the transborder area.
Since I was fine boarding last, I went to hang out at the LAS gate. However, the crew hadn't boarded yet. When they finally did board, we realized the LAS flight would be delayed a bit, so three of us went to my SFO gate.
We hung back chatting, but around the time they called zone 5, I got in line, and we said our goodbyes.
My boarding pass didn't scan.
“You've been offloaded…. Did you come from somewhere?”
“Montreal”
“Just now?”
“About an hour and a half ago”
It seems they had upgraded someone into my seat.
They were good about it, and worked to not just get me back into business class, but back into the seat I had selected two weeks ago.
However, that required one move within business, one move from business to economy, and one move within economy.
They hadn't gone on board to do this by the time I boarded, so I spent quite a few minutes standing in the galley while they had discussions with 2C and 2A, before they finally finished the move.
While I was still at the gate, I received a text from expert7700 that his PNR (which also had 9yroldsuperelite) had the same issue. Their seats has been given away. I don't have full details on that, but unlike in my case, it sounds like they didn't have to downgrade a high status revenue passenger.
From what I can gather, our Montreal standby caused this. We cleared into economy class, we're aware before even going to the gate, so we stayed on our original flight. Somehow, this offloaded us from our connections (but not our YUL-YYZ flight).
