I told him the same. The $1000 seems like a very lazy route for someone to choose.

E35k is only domestic and TB lounges yes. I liked priority security and zone 2 boarding. But 6 trips isn’t that many. P25 gives you a few lounge passes alone.
Agree the free bags were undervalued by cow's analysis. I believe the lounge passes are also not valid for international lounge, which is worth noting if planning to use in lieu of *G privilege. An Amex card with Priority Pass may give access to a lounge for international, along with other benefits for about the same.

Colleague of mine says he was at 72k. Got an offer for $1000 to 75k. Similar situation, cheaper to fly to YYZ...

Hilarious offer to buy up to E75 for $1000 considering I am only 5K miles short (which I will reach prior to the end of the year to snag E75 anyway with my AQD at 12000).

More info

alright. Here is some more info. Wondering if I can get some thoughts on if the buy up to p25k is worth it for $499?

started traveling for work in May of 2018 Have accrued the following since then

AQM 17741
AQS 16
AQD 5032

Will probably surpass 25k next year and most likely be closer to 35k. Most likely will end up checking bags on roughly 4 round trip flights next year. My questions

1 is a buy up to P25k worth $499? I don’t fully understand all the benefits. Interested in certainly saving money on those checked bags, lounge access will be nice and not sure how the upgrade credits even work Usually book the lowest level of fare available
2 Will being p25k help me in anyway reach 35k faster or help with reaching it at all? Meaning will I get more miles on flights booking low fares if I’m at 25k or are there any ways to somehow be declared 35k without waiting till the end of 2019?

thanks all

Some data for the list.

I was AQM: 42,831 AQS: 21 AQD: 4958.96

Offer for purchase up to 50k was $1,153.95 (that includes GST).

I took it as I really don't have the time to squeeze in a mileage run before year end.

I am 50K, and would buy-up to 75K if they offer it, but I doubt I’ll get an offer.

$449 so I think I will pass. She rarely travels solo, and has a platinum Aeroplan Amex Card, and we never have more than 4 bags to check so other than waitlist for upgrades and we are flying J more and more anyway so I do not see any advantage but if someone does please advise.

Thanks

You just might. Not all offers go out at the same time and not just in December.

He did not tell me, but it seemed to be above the requirement.

BTW, I entered info for myself and got this:

We’re sorry, this offer is unavailable. Either you are not currently eligible for this offer, or the promotion has ended. Learn more about Air Canada Altitude at altitude.aircanada.com.

I get this for myself (already qualified).

I get "Something went wrong. Please check your login information and try again." for AmericanBovine, who is currently waiting for 42 AQD to post before he'll hit SE

I'm sitting at 45,700 AQM once my most recent flight posts, and ~$11,000 AQD. It looks like if I get an offer to move up E50 it will be in the $900 range. Looking at the added benefits, it's not really worth it unless I plan to do more international flying.

The answer to your question needs more information:
  • Do you have a credit card that grants you priority check in?
  • Do you often check bags?;
  • Do you often use standby to change your flights same day?

Trying to figure out if I should do an ADS run for the three remaining segments which I can do for around 450$ or if I should hope for an updated offer. I have an equal amount of travelled scheduled for next year so the E35 perks are really appealing to me.
If you have the time SweFlyer, go on the segment run. It will most likely cost less than any revised buy-up offer
