I've had no offers.
I was only just over the AQM but my AQD was over $6k which I believe was the E50 requirement.
Interesting how it only only up to E50 and is now being expanded. Meanwhile AC sells planes. Short on cash? The debt suddenly becoming an issue?
$1600 for SE seems like an excellent deal that will lose AC money in many cases. Of course, if one is E75 maybe they wouldn't pay the co pay so that's not really losing AC money.
Do wonder how targeted it is. I struggle to believe AC IT is capable of identifying people unlikely to cost them more than $1600 (or even $1300) in additional benefits.
$1300 USD vs $1600 CAD? Just wondering, it's not far off that depending upon which way you convert it.

Um, AC is ahead if Altitude members who received the offer, BUY the offer
AC is not necessarily ahead if those same members who bought-up cost more than they did due to AC having to provide the SE benefits and privileges which AC obviously believes costs money. Otherwise, AC would have never set SE at $20K, you know, because either we "cost" more or because AC thinks we need to "spend more" for the privilege of being SE.

I don't struggle with the same belief; whenever revenue can be increased they seem to work it out in AC IT. Other non-revenue impacting issues, well, they fly basic economy.

I am so so surpirsed they'd do this all the way up to SE.
Just don't get why they'd cheapen the product so much. Really bizarre, only explanation I can think is that the emails were sent out 3 weeks early, and were meant to arrive April 1st.
Will be interesting to see where the dust settles.

Curious if there'd be anything in the Star Alliance agreement between members relating to buying status (*G) vs earning it via BIS?

J has that too. It's the most fun when you hang back, and while zone 5 is being boarded saunter to zone 1 with nothing but a very very small bag, just to be able to answer "Zone 1?" with ... "Jay."
AQD is mostly comprised of what? Actual costs of delivering conveyance? What are margins like at AC? Is it really fuel driven and thus this pay-for-play might be the ONLY way an airline can make money reliably?
Might have to sex it up more... should sunglasses on livery, at night even... good Canadian music...

(There! Try to get that out of your head for the whole weekend.)

Wait what? Only P25k+ can early qualify? A non-status person won't get E35k this year even if they get the miles before October?

I suppose the cost could also be justified partially with the eUpgrades received reaching SE or E75.

Last year my flying declined and I had 25k AQM, 26 AQS and 7980 AQD. (Yes I know I was apparently flying very expensive flights.) Despite having grossly overspent, I've had zero offers.
Perhaps in their analysis I will continue to overspend and require no incentives. But that analysis would be wrong. So far in 2017 I have flown or booked 8 segments on 5 airlines, based on schedule and price, only one of which was on AC.
