I've flown AC 156 multiple times.

It's a red eye, arrives in YYZ pretty damned early, but it connects with everything I've ever flown. I've never flown YYZ TATL, no reason to fly YYZ TPAC. But for any connections to the US midwest-east, or for the flights I've taken to South America it works nicely. I'd actually prefer a later flight, but it doesn't always work with the connections, plus currently as an SE the "premium Y" is available to me at no charge, I feel like I sleep a BIT better up there than in regular Y, so why not?

I've got YVR-YYZ-MAD coming up, which is a 9am departure from YVR. Now there's a couple things at play here. I'll be in rush hour to YVR for one, unless I arrive stupidly early. I'll have to park at the Templeton employee lot (there's a closer lot, but it fills up by about 7), then I also feel like I burn my whole day on that plane. Not that I have much to do, but often I work my full shift, then get on AC 156, I know my sleep patterns are crap so I'll sleep for a while on that flight, but then I've also got the overnight TATL following it, so I think lots of it will be while awake, then I'll probably be a bit of a bum once I arrive in MAD until I get some sleep.

I don't PREFER to take red-eyes if I'm staying in YYZ, because no hotel is letting you check in before like 11ish at the earliest and I have nothing to do once I get there. But when making a connection, sure, plus its usually forced on me based on the destintations anyways :)

I take them a few times a year and consider them necessary evils. The 5 hour or so ones aren't terrible, but every now and again I'll fly something like PHX-DTW which is 3 hours and is absolutely miserable.

I am pretty sure I am going to book AC156 on DEC 15th

Pray for e-upgrade. I think I am pretty safe with 40J config.. right guys? Right?
