Actually JJ you are not wrong. The OP set the stage for credit card coverage then asked "Does AC or airline delayed baggage limitation work in the same vein?"
Hence responses related to the Montreal Convention are what s/he needs.

Hey all,
Can someone clarify something for me?
So if I have a delayed baggage over 4 hours, most
Credit card insurance kicks in and you can buy clothes etc for what you need up to some limit.
The credit cards also specifically state that no insurance coverage applies if the bag is lost on the return portion of your trip (back to your city of residence).
Does AC or airline delayed baggage limitation work in the same vein?
Let's say I have my suit in my bag and now it's lost and I need that suit for a wedding this weekend for example. Would that be covered by my delayed bag claim against AC even if it's my return portion?
My thought is that AC delayed expense would cover that... But they'd be thorough in ensuring the reasonableness of the expense.
(Please forego the 'don't pack suit in checked luggage thing- it's just an example).
