MAA-BKK TG J
BKK-TSN CA J
TSN-TSA CA J

The experience wasn't as horrible as I had read on FT or elsewhere; the food was reasonably good, but on the 738s, there wasn't any IFE that I can recall. I even received an amenity kit on the BKK-TSN segment (and there was only one other person in J).

There were no problems with ticketing, no missing seats, and I was able to phone in and select my seats months ahead. Wouldn't mind trying CA F from say, FRA-PEK, or LHR-PEK (777), or even on the 748 on whichever routes they fly.
That was LAST year
I booked in Sept 2015 for August 2016, no issue either

Hopefully this year and going forward, CA is here to stay
Not that it impacts my booked-last-week mRTW much really

What I really want is J availability for Shenzen (ZH).

I've looked at revenue tickets for PEK-SZX, and yikes, it's pricey. I just need to fly it once or twice to cross it off my *A bucket list.

Really? Inter China J fares are usually really good on Ctrip .. to me atleast
Usually <400CAD for trips around 2-3 hours, I even saw $150 deals on the way to Changsha from SHA.

PEK TO SZX go for 2000 RMB ish about one month away in F.

Buy your ticket from PEK to SZX in China. Prices are a lot lower than buying from Canada. Also, you could just fly to HKG and take a bus to SZX.

I find they are only cheap if you buy the tickets in China. Prices can be a lot higher from Canada.

I find that there is quite often space from WUX (near where I am), but at 110,000 miles for a short business class fare, it's a bit steep!

You can buy it from Canada with Wechat pay or even Paypal, it's not really geo-locked as far as I can tell.
