Process to order SPML has changed?

Something just happened which floored me.

So the usual process is....Maradori upgrades me, and then once I'm confirmed in J, I call in to order a SPML.

But...

something really odd happened. I go to select my seat on ac.com after he upgrades me, and it says..."low lactose meal". I didn't order it, I'm sure he didn't either...

How the heck did AC know to order me a NLML without me asking for it. This process changed. Anyone know what happened? Yes, NLML is attached to my AC profile, but I've had to call in every single time - until my flight in two weeks to YEG. Eh? What happened la?

Isn't this a good thing?

If I order kosher every time in J, isn't it good that AC assumes I'll always want kosher instead of a slab of bacon?

Absolutely it's awesome. I'm just not sure if it's a one off or if the process has changed?

I have the opposite. Last few times I have travelled I have had a SPML show up and I have never ordered one. I think it was a gluten free meal. At check in at my last flight I had to make sure there was no SPML!

I am still looking and waiting for the meat lovers option for special meals..... Trying to get a protein only diet to help lose the weight with all those cookies and ice cream, bread temptations that they keep serving on my flights...

Let me know if anyone finds something close.... CX has a Seafood option...

I called about 3 days ago to order the Asian Vegetarian Meal for a flight yesterday to BCN.
Conversation with AC:
Hi, I'd like to order the AVML.
AC: the Oriental Vegetarian Meal?
No, the AVML
AC: the Asian vegetarian, Hindu, Muslim meal?
No, I think it's just AVML
AC: ok the Asian, Hindu, etc meal
Ok, whatever. I thank her and hang up.
On my flight yesterday YUL to BCN, no AVML. He asks if I was upgraded to Premiun Rouge, no booked it a month ago and ordered the meal 3 days ago. No sorry, you should call AC and ask for compensation and make sure your return trip has been noted. It's also on my profile. Sigh.......

I'm flying SFO-YUL on Saturday morning and YUL-SFO on Sunday evening. If I want the children's meal only on the return flight, when should I call in to have it added to my booking?

Would right before I depart on Saturday be a good time?

I'm not sure why this matters. As long as you book >T-18.... Plus if I'm thinking that you're thinking I don't think it makes any difference. If they have a script to bust your attempt I'd be very surprised

Let me rephrase. It's all one PNR. I want a regular adult meal on Saturday, but the children's meal on Sunday.

I want to make sure I don't get a children's meal both ways.

Ohh.

Ok, I get what you mean.

So yes what you want to do I've done and it works. But it also works if you want to order both up front before both of your flights.

So I've ordered T-7 days (if the upgrade clears)

Outbound: NLML
Inbound: VOML

Or whatever - the agents get a bit confused, but it's do-able

Cow you don't look like a kid, what's in a kids meal that beats an adults one?
