My spotting was an actress who is Canadian and has a starting role in a prime time CBS drama. Sorry if she didn't make the FT cut but she made mine as I have been watching her on TV for a year.

Not at all. As mentioned upthread, a good number of very wealthy people (Thomson, Walton, Buffett among others) are noted from avoiding the trappings usually associated with high net worth. Not all rich people are as kitschy and ostentatious as certain Republican candidates. The dragon in economy is showing an astute financial prudence, and that behaviour likely helped elevate him/her into the lofty tax bracket they are in today.
Cow is absolutely right in his comment. Like him, if I were the one who just raked in that $50M LottoMax win this week, I wouldn't be shopping for a Bugatti or Lear today.

On Monday LAX-YVR AC1881 Audrey Marie Anderson from Arrow, The Unit sitting three rows up from me. We met by the bathrooms and chatted for a while, super nice, I like her.
