If you think about it...if someone knows your AE number or last name (which in your case its easy), one could even move your seat to a crappy one in the back...

(AE # for olci or last name for manage online bookings online)
If someone gets your credit card information and they make charges to it, it is still the merchant's responsiblity to confirm the card holder is actually making the purchase. How is this different?

Lightbulb The optimist

The optimist in me thinks that calls originating from a mobile line linked to the passenger's profile could quite safely enjoy the reduced scrutiny. At least that is how it should be.

I'm actually not sure how I feel about that.

If you look at United, they have your next flight on your screen when you call in from your profile's number.

So if I get your phone, I don't even need your booking reference any more. I just need to call the airline

AC: For John Smith?
Me: Yes

How do they know it's John Smith calling in?
And, why would you say yes when, clearly, that isn't your name?

While I certainly don't hide my true identity on FT, I don't think I've ever actually posted my full name in text before

Definitely not. The work # that I use to call AC is not in my AC profile at all.

I think the point was that it SHOULD work that way.
