oh! did they get rid of YYZ - YWG being mainline? I didn't realize that! I only ever do the YVR - YWG side.

And I meant focus city because that's what AC defines it as.

YYZ still mainline, but YVR is mostly Jazz. YVR-YWG went 100% Jazz in May. AC had to add 1 mainline flight basically for cargo. Going back to 100% jazz soon.

YYZ TB.

Pickles and chips.

I went to the front desk, and asked if they don't even have cookies any more.

One of the agents went to the back. He took a couple minutes, so I was getting ready to fill out a comment form.

He came back and said "they're bringing them out right now".

Yay me.

Edit: They're hard as rocks. I'm filling out the comment card.

Does the sign say "freshly baked"?

If yes, put a note on the comment card that they have to say "cookies are from a giant superstore and not nearly as good as the previous soft, chewy cookies"

Actually, if anything, it will probably say "fresh baked".

YVR TB - it's been a few months since I passed through this lounge, and the cost-cutting is quite apparent. Bean and kale salad and two soups, and apples for dessert, are all the food at lunch time. Gone are the sandwiches. There aren't even pretzels or nuts.
I also didn't see any pickles.

They "Benchmarked" other airlines lounges and now feel their offering is of "Excellence" compared to others. Have they actually been in one -- No.

I am in the AC MLL in LAX 5.30pm PST. I miss the TBIT lounge. Came off a TPAC and would have loved some light food. The AC MLL has a lunch menu posted. It has listed a chicken noodle soup, tomato basil bisque, mesclun mix greens salad, four bean salad and ranch/balsamic dressing. The chicken noodle soup is over. SO down to two types of lame salad and tomato bisque. On the plus side the booze is flowing and the washrooms are clean and functional plus there is a lot of seating area. On my outbound I spent a couple of hours at the TBIT lounge and what a difference. Selection of cheese, salads, sandwiches, desserts, out door seating area, self serve drinks plus barman.
Edit : chicken noodle soup is back. And there are apples.

Well, thanks for the "Live from the Field" update ^

I'll assume booze is flowing as it costs significantly less to buy in the U.S. and might even be less expensive than the bean salad.

Any pickles?

No pickles. I think thats a Canada MLL phenomenon.
If AC cannot maintain food in its lounges perhaps they should allow us to order some pizza. Free booze and pizza = happy frat party
Talking to another customer who is also mourning the loss of this lounge when it was a NZ lounge.
And i do remember your food porn pictures from this lounge - sadly that was short lived is this may be worse than a dom MLL.
EDIT : Staff advised that cookies will be put out around 7-8. Staff offered to get me some.
I paid a change fee to leave early so I dont have to take the red eye and now my changed flight is late. blah

Tears would be shed by many if I re-posted the photos of what was served when it was the NZ lounge......champagne....that excellent evening chicken dish...those New Zealand wines....the Wall of Snacks.....

One thing that I really like about the LAX lounge are the in-lounge staff, at least in the afternoon which is when I fly out. They are invariably super friendly and helpful, make all the difference given the lame food offerings.
