Time for AC to consider A380's, at least for some lucrative routes?

Maybe a military will pick up a few to use as troop transports?

I know - a FT 'Do' in a recently returned SQ 380.
Even if it was static we could have some fun. Except for the RCHHMP of course. They could supervise.

Not even A380, whether AC will operate any Airbus in the near future may be a question. Since AC has opted for B737 MAX and B787, it is unlikely that AC will buy A320 Neo or A350 in the near future. Once A320s and A330s retire in the near future, we may not see any AC Airbus at all.
As for A380 and B748, the future of these birds seem to be inversely proportional to the future of B787 and A350. A380 and B748 are designed for hub and spoke model, while B787 and A350 are designed for point to point model. Giving the current market conditions, most of the airlines are opting for the point to point model. Even for hub to hub routes, many airlines prefer to use slightly smaller planes for frequency rather than larger planes for efficiency.

OTOH Rouge has 20 319s. Not very new, not very old.

At this point is it safe to nominate this thread for dumbest of 2017?
(Yes, there is some interesting discussion here. But on the whole the whole premise of AC buying A380s is just dumb.)

We should merely turn discussion into a just as likely similar subject, speculating on whether AC will purchase A300-600STs to ferry cargo between YYJ and YVR.
Please discuss.

Reality AC has to decided what to do with some 767 that will soon be at D check. Perhaps some more cheap very used 330's are in the future.

AC has some 330's also, and they are so old there is not much of a market for them either. So i expect AC will be flying Airbus for a lot more years.

The A319s are on average 19.6 years old compared with 20.3 for the rouge 763's. Interesting that people tend to think of the 763's as long in the tooth when the A319's are within 1 year of their age and have almost certainly done far more cycles.

Veritable spring chickens at 17.4 years - 2 years younger than Rouge's A319 fleet. My how time flies.
