*FAQ:
Q: On the 787-9 (789), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Rows 5 and 8 on both port and starboard sides have only one window, instead of two on all other port/starboard J seats.
Q: On the 787-8 (788), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Only row 5 port and starboard sides have zero windows.
Q: Does the middle J seats' middle divider come down?
A: No, on the 788 and 789 the middle divider does not come down and is fixed in place. In fact, all Dream Cabin (788, 789, 77L, 77W) middle dividers are fixed and do not come down.

Yes, I prefer this too. Also easier to walk over and talk instead of leaning forward. I also prefer to be slightly behind as I am sure my wife has eyes even at the back of her head.

The bassinet/skycot (BSCT) is a fixed part of the credenza structure (pulls up and out) ahead of 1D/1G with 1D being the designated skycot seat for an Infant accompanying a Parent.

One thing all seats have in common is an equal chance of being deflated.

Not for PY seats, Y seats, jump seats, cockpit seats
However, if we start to collect the statistics, we may find that some seats deflates more than others. My hypothesis would be seats at front and window are more likely to be (reported) deflated as people are more likely to seat at the front and window.

I've only been in the J and PY cabins of the 789, now looking at EWR-YVR in Y. I have a choice of row 18 or 31. Seat Guru says there is extra legroom at Row 18. Row 31 is close to the lavs, but I think there's an exit door in between, so lots of space in front of 31?
Is there decent legroom in Row 18?
Thx.

Unlimited leg room. i put my duffel as an ottoman and get great sleep. Thin eye mask to prevent lav light issues
during day time though, and esp if you want tv, i think 18 would be better? I imagine 31 is less wide to store more stuff in the arm resr vs 18
dreamliner is only true to name in J, in PY its basic comfort sold as premium, and economy is zero comfort. Thats why Im passionate about 31K, i prefer it on redeye vs PY

Currently have the choice the following PY choices on the 789:
13A/K are gone
Is 14A the exact same as 13A, with regards to recline? I was on a 777 during the summer and it was noticeably less recline due to the bulkhead wall behind me. I do not mind someone reclining into my face, but I want to have the same recline as the person in front of me
I can jump into 12A, but prefer non-bulkhead due to legroom and foot rest
Thanks!

Seat maps for the 787-8 have been updated to reflect the addition of 4 seats in Row 41 and the removal of 2 closets. Unclear if the actual retrofits have taken place yet.

I prefer row 31 over 18 for unlimited legroom. Row 18 bulkhead is just no space to stretch legs out. Didn’t have any width issues (unlike Rouge Y fwiw). I can’t recall if 18 has the proper arm rest IFE or is it’s on the bulkhead which I find poor.

Interesting. I imagine this row is going to be set up like Row 45 is in the 789 -- with a considerable gap between the window seat and the side of the plane. Best Y seats on the aircraft imho.
