Did that YYZ- HKG on CX. 3 X 50lbs + carry-on wheelable + backpack. (Someone's moving)

Didn't use luggage cart as it would be even harder to lift those 50lbs onto the cart.

Coming back luggage was also much quicker coming out compared to AC, even when it was raining outside and an announcement was made to that effect.

Service in all areas is much better with CX. Passenger quality no.

Translation then: these "most" luggage pigs expect the few other who are not to subsidize them?

Isn't unbundling actually more fair? Plus, people with status get a larger luggage allowance anyway.

And I'm not sure why it would be right that slim people with normal body weights should be subsidizing "pigs"

Two bags is not something I use all the time, but once in a while it can come in handy, especially when I return home to Canada for Christmas and need to pack all the gifts for the trans-pac trip back!

I heard it's only for bookings by certain travel agencies and that's how they compete with online travel agencies (expedia etc) and AC.com since they don't have a price advantage.

They have updated their website to reflect the change.
http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelin...e/checked.html

I wonder how long this will last before they go back to 1 bag. It's nonetheless a welcome change.

Its interesting to note that while AC is waiving the 2nd bag fee for Canada-Asia, If you're flying US-Asia via Canada, the allowance is still 1 bag with the second at $100USD/CAD. Is it going to stay this way or will the website update soon?

Ditto...booked back in August. The 2nd bag free does not apply to tickets purchased before Oct 26, 2013.
2nd bag - $100 CAD/USD per direction (tickets issued before Ocotber 26, 2013)

Oh well.
