Not much changes for me:eek:

I do buy Latitude inter-continental passes. Booked a flight to FRA earlier this year on day of travel as a very last minute decision. My travels have become even more last minute at times due to unforeseen events in the business I work for.

What is your point tractor boy?. My post was not supporting ACs position of new fare classes and my  emoticon was meant to be sympathetic to the many here who are caught short with the changes.
I have always advocated a revenue based FF program and looks like that is where AC ,and likely many others ,are headed.I am a 'locked in' AC customer and am dealing with each change as it occurs, and as noted, minimal to date for me personally.

I am a customer of AC that does purchase latitude inter-continental,latitide trans-continental(great flexability and value for me) and flex regional flight passes for all my Dash flights.;)The e-credits have worked for me at a 100%success rate in 2013 and I do have flights that are booked and upgraded through March 6th,2014.

In my case, and this has been my travel pattern for the last 10+ years in my working career , the program has worked.

Do I like the scam charges:mad:, not at all. A major PITA and a very sore point personally speaking.

I have used my points for family travel and had very good success in redeeming those points and enjoy my down time with the family tremendously.
Am running up my AE account to do a RTW with Mrs.acysb87 ex a US gateway . She deserves a first class:) experience and that would also be my first first:D flight(s).

When I retire,my expectations and experiences will be different . I make no excuses for where I reside or how I am "locked" into a carrier. I have made the best of it and it works for me.:)

LOL @ AC really. Good luck and Godspeed I guess. I'm happy having moved to BR and CX. Don't need to put up with this nonsense.

My thoughts exactly....the first thing i did after reading this thread was looking at prices for CX...Lo and behold, theyre actually cheaper on PE and J from where i live over AC... oh well, it was good while it lasted!

The term "bottom feeder" has formally lost all meaning around these parts.

just when you thought this program could not get any ...they go and do this. it is rather remarkable how much they have managed to devalue the program in 2 years.

EuroRob Sep 25, 2013 6:43 am

It was nice while it lasted, but I fear very few complementary upgrades in my future with the expansion of Tango fares and co-payments. That was a big part of keeping me flying AC versus alternatives. The freedom may be refreshing.

For those in YYZ or YVR, people who don’t want an extra connection via the US are stuck with AC. Those who despise AC enough like I do, don’t really care and will gladly route out of the US….I just don’t value my time like some of the big shooters here must. I am so glad that I only use my AP account to lauder my miles through Esso to BA when I am forced because of blind loyalty to this crappy program force me to travel with AC when I am the junior man on the buz trip.

I hate to say it but you do have a choice. one that is not as convenient as flying AC, but in YYZ, and YVR, if you stick with AC, you choose that fate. no excuses to not fly with another carrier.

The inconvenience is usually compensated by cheaper fare.

That's exactly the point... I value non-stop flights the most... no great alternatives for the places I go. If I am forced to make a connection, there needs to be a reason more compelling than cost. Of course, this is a personal value judgement as I pay for my own travel.

These latest changes still suck for all involved...

for business travel, i am willing to go out of my way to, firstly to save cash for my company since they are kind enough to allow me to fly J, and will go out of my way to avoid AC. usually, it is not hard to accomplish both from YYZ.

Okay. I am about to paste here what AC says they will be doing with flights that were booked prior to Sept. 24. So, why do all my flights show as Tango?

In summary:

Booking classes S and W will now be sold under the Tango fare option for all international travel, including Sun destinations.
Booking Class K will now be sold under the Tango fare option for travel within Canada, for travel between Canada and the United States, and between Canada and Sun destinations.
Booking classes T and L will now be sold under the Tango fare option for travel to Sun destinations.

Impact on eUpgrade eligibility
If you’re an Air Canada Altitude member and you or your eUpgrade Nominee(s) have made a booking before September 24, 2013 in a booking class that is moving from Flex to Tango, your reservation ****will automatically be rebooked into a Flex booking class and will remain eligible for eUpgrades.****

Learn more about Air Canada eUpgrades.

Impact on mileage accumulation
If you’re an Aeroplan member (including Air Canada Altitude members) and you made a booking before September 24, 2013 in a booking class that is moving from Flex to Tango, you’ll automatically continue to earn 100% Altitude Qualifying Miles for your flight.

I have added the ****.

So why do my flights show as Tango and not Flex?

They haven't gotten around to do it yet? In the last round of changes like this a lot of people ended up calling and having the agents do it over the phone instead of waiting for the system to do this which in some cases the brilliant IT system ended up never re-booking.
