The whole point of the page was to get new material for the creators social media consulting business. Let me be clear, Ian Nethercott is in the business of providing companies with consulting services to set up and operate a social media presence. He also does speaking engagements. He is not interested in getting the $800 backe as he has earned the fees many times over by using his experiences with AC to push the social media agenda.

I don't really understand his problem. Killing time in the MLL I read his page and it looks to me like they offered him more value than his wasted tickets.
The above excerpt from a post attributed to AC by the owner of the page looks like he was offered a travel credit of $88 dollars (2* 194-150) above his ticket cost with all taxes refunded. Some people just won't take yes for an answer!
As a one time exception, I am however able to offer you an extension on your expired credits. The breakdown will be the base fare less the $150 per ticket. Applicable taxes will be refunded to the credit card used on original purchase.
As a gesture of goodwill, we are pleased to provide each of you with an electronic travel voucher in the amount of $194.00CAD. These transferable vouchers may be used toward the base fare when you purchase Air Canada tickets for travel on Air Canada, Air Canada Express and/or Air Canada rouge, and are valid until one year from today. This means that they must be applied to new tickets purchased within that time frame, however, travel does not have to commence within the year.

The whole raison d'etre of that page was that the guy who started it booked two non-refundable tango tickets and then was surprised when they wouldn't refund his money. I'm amazed they gave him any credit at all, that's the whole point of a NON REFUNDABLE ticket.
Forget liking that page, I would DISlike that page if I could. There are lots of legitimate reasons to be annoyed at Air Canada but that is just one idiot suffering from the effects of being an idiot.

While I can go on and on about AC's many shortcomings. A Tango non-refundable ticket drama and FB page is idiotic. The most annoying part is the pixilated logo (
) and the itinerary page showing the destination. Having 24 hours to reconsider travel for a full refund is perfectly acceptable, IMHO.

Wow, a very interesting page until you look deeper. I was going to dismiss it at first, until I read lowside67's clarification - after that I read all the posts.
As everyone said, it's someone who either didn't read the rules or took a cheaper option... and doesn't accept that they made a mistake.
