Try this: go to travelocity.com, tell it you want cheapest flights BUF to MIA, dates flexible.

It comes back with USAir for C$144 (plus taxes), minimum 7-day advance, minimum 1 day stay (i.e. overnight).

The calendar shows it available every day from Jan 23 to Feb 13.

[added: total is C$192.62 including taxes]

It's slightly cheaper (about USD$10) if you book it on the usairways.com website.

Go to www.usairways.com

Put BUF in the From box
Put MIA in the To box
Select "Flexible"
And click on "search flights"

from there you can select the fare, and it will show the available dates and then you can pick your flights.

Oh, and if you were to take this flight with me I could upgrade the both of us with my certificates

Thanks, but I need a YYZ departure. I don't live in Buffalo. I thought FlyerAl meant YYZ.

I thought YYZ and BUF were co-terminals?

Just call up the SE Aeroplan desk and tell them you want to leave on Friday and come back whenever you want. That's even cheaper than the $87.25 that FlyerAl told you.

Do I get the commission now?

Yep, that's exactly what I plan to do. $20 in J. Can't beat that.

Hey I could do the same thing with my US Airways miles, but it would only cost me 30,000 points for First Class.

Isn't it 40K points for F? [That's what I saw on USAir's website]

I bet you don't get no capacity control like we do!

There's a promotion running between now and the end of Feb that allows you to claim an F reward to Florida for 30,000 Dividend Miles.

Sure there are capacity controls, but the F cabins are almost always available for award claims. Trust me, there are seats for Friday

So what you are suggesting is that Afterburner gives you the $20 and you'll claim a 30K award for him?

Those sales usually exclude Florida.

You know, this really isn't so much an issue with other carriers. Most frequent flier programs are actually designed so that customers, irrespective of tier, can actually redeem the points they've earned for flights. I realise this may be a shocking to customers used to AC's crappy program, but I just thought I'd point it out.
