This helps me use those 16,500 points I got in my kids accounts during the last promo.
Buy a one-way to destination out of one of their accounts and a one-way return out of the other one. 12,500 / account = 25,000 total.
BUF-LAS for example. 12,500 + $14.00 / tax each way.

Probably not. AP distinguishes between Classic Awards and Priority Awards. When there have been sales in the past it's only the Classic Awards that are discounted.

One can regularly find BUF-X-LAS for $250-$300 round trip so I think YYZ-LAS (usually $450+) is better find, IF you can find availability

Lower cost.
From AC's point view, it's to save money. Lower cost pilots, lower cost FA's, lower cost other workers, selling more seats, give very low Aeropeso points, etc. It's not Low Cost to the consumers, because the ticket costs are not really much lower. It is AC's way to have lower cost to fly.
These lower cost pilots and lower cost FAs can then replace those AC higher cost pilots and higher cost FAs who retire or just move away.

But it's good to see Aeropeso catch up to the competition in offering 1/2 the number of points of roundtrip, for 1-way flights.

Here's the link from Aeroplan

Came just in time for me - I was 7,000 miles short before the promo. Now I'm all booked!

A promotion? So that explains it. Had to cancel a one way, short-haul, 10,000 point reward ticket I'ld booked a few weeks ago. Then two days ago I booked two one way seats on the same route (YGK to YQT) for only 15,000 points - great value since two tango fares were $822. Better than .05 per point return.
