Red face help deciding please

I am flying again across the country (canada) then to turkey and beruit in the last part of dec. i am hopefully flying back in January if I don't get shot. Now i am sitting at 59k for the year on AC. I just got my elite with Turkish Air. Now on my TK portion toronto to istanbul should i credit it to AC or TK? It is premium econ. I cannot decide if having more aeropesos is better than adding to TK. I am zero upgrades this year as I travel the more traveled routes and times for the most part. Yes 55 credits and haven't spent one. i am going to TRY to upgrade yvr to toronto and back on AC. We will see.
I signed up for the 50percent aeroplan bonus and get the 50 percent AC bonus.

Someone lay out the pros and cons and give me an opinion please!

I'm not familiar with TK's program so can't do a valid comparison, but I'd be inclined to credit at least enough miles (under 1000) to tak you over the 60K threshold and earn some 2013 eUpgrades - too bad you couldn't use them this year, but you might have better luck in 2013 with the intro of T+ international fares.

Well, IMHO if you are a fan of TK and your flying is mostly to/from Turkey then stick to the carrier that will look after you the most which sounds like TK. If you fly AC to other locations then AC as no one should have a ton of unused credits, so why allow this unused benefit to go to waste,

When F/F earn their miles going "home" on their particular home airline then stick with them as you will enjoy the benefits of your home carrier, no different as I enjoy my SE benefits on AC. However I fly most everywhere so AC provides the better access and benefits.

One of my wifes peers who has seeked my advise fly's between canada and her "old country home" and belongs to LH Miles & More. She asked if she should switch to AP and I said no as that is all she does is fly to/from canada and the old country and LH does a great job looking after her. F/F sure techinically but only on one route!

Always stick with the program that will most benefit you and your needs.

Building on HerpaYVR's point, it strikes me that if you are at 59K with AC and have achieved Gold status with TK, it means you would have been able to achieve SE with Air Canada or Elite Plus with TK.

FWIW, based on a quick scan, AC's SE program appears far more generous than TK's.

well hummm sometimes if your job pays for your ticket you take the ticket they will buy and obviously a lot of time that isn't AC. Sorry just the way it is. I think my eupgrade problem is that i usually fly to London or Fra and of course the J pods are always full when i am on.

I doubt my job will pay for tango plus fares. I suspect many people are in the same boat as me so next year no upgrades
