This is why I started the thread, though more specificity I say! More!

Which airlines?
Which planes? 747? 380?
Which routes?

I agree with going westbound.

UA 747s are dreadful. The rest is fine - no different than other economy, the entertainment system is ok. There is still wine and beer free on TPACs, nothing on TATLs of course.

Of course if the choice came to TK/SQ over UA - its a no brainer. But if the choice was AC vs UA (not 747!) - its also a no brainer - save the $300 scamcharge, and pay $100 for economy plus.

How about from Australia/NZ back over Europe to Canada. Any recommended routings for Y?
