When Does Status Pass to *A Partner

I've just early qualified for AC Elite, finished my selections and am awaiting my package. I have a reasonable amount of transborder travel on US and UA upcoming and I am wondering whether they will know if I am *G. Does status pass at the time of booking, check in or another time..

Just wondering because without the status on the record I'd have to pay for bags until my card arrives. And no priority boarding, which is a big deal on the US YEG-PHX flight..

When your status changes in AC account. When you travel on US or any other star airline make sure that you put your FF number when booking the tickets or if you already did, at the check in.
If you had your number attached to the reservation it should automatically recognize it at the check in.

Each computer system may have a different response. But here is a good general rule:

When you checkin for the flight, check with the agent if the AC*G remark appoears and you are recognized as *G flier. If you are not recognized as *G, then have the agent delete your AE#, save the PNR update, then re-enter your AE#. This procedure will regenerate your FFP status and should get you into *G. As a back up, have screen print documentation that you are a new Elite and *G member.

Great, that's what I'll do. Thanks for the detailed instructions. Everything is all good on the AC side, but this morning I wasn't recognized on US. Didn't matter to me because I had no checked bags and a half full plane, but for the future I will get them to fix it.
