It didn't end up well.

That's probably what you are dealing with in the essence that is the Aeroplan program.

Sorry.

I assume you need two tickets? Here is what I found surcharge-free TATL in business:

Lots of open seats JFK-GVA on LX and JFK-BRU on SN (new business class), but you will need to change airports in New York. Other than that:

ORD-ARN Oct 09 SK946
ORD-CPH Oct 16 SK944
ORD-AMS Oct 17 UA908
EWR-BRU Oct 17 UA960

Thank you for all of the options and all of your help.

Mentioned in an earlier post that I'm looking at going to ZRH; found LO46 and LX1349. I can call in and add a YWG-YYZ connecting flight to this I believe, yes?

Yes. But you will pay a huge fuel surcharge for LO. Better take AC then.

$157 for the LO flight, $451 for the AC flight. YQ is $85 on the LO. Not great, but we'd prefer to fly to ZRH vs. ARN.

No this will not work

YWG-ZRH MPM+5 is 6118 miles - I am pretty sure you are over that.

My bad! I got YEG confused with YWG!

OP, how many points is a one-way to Europe on Aeroplan? And were there scamcharges on SK?

Just wanted to compare to the 30k/50k United wants for this one way in Y/J, with fees of $81.20

One way J is 60k.

No scamcharges in sk or lx

Our total for myself and Mrs. tbuff and infant tbuff was $35X.XX This included $30 phone booking fee X2 and $100 for infant. I can't seem to get it to add up. so that would make it...$190ish for two.

Because if you book travel Aeroplan has to give money to the carrier you fly. AP doesn't want to do this, so it's not in their interest to show you all your options. They'd rather you don't travel on points.

Actually, they'd rather
a) spend more points on ClassicPlusScam, if that fails
b) spend more money in scamcharges on AC or other scamchargable airlines.
c) Spend $33.90 phone booking fee.
