I've always wondered what is a LOT of mileage flown for a year.
example you see the threshold gifts and last year, they started at 150k with the montblanc pen and went all the way up to 300k as the highest mile threshold gift. this year...the threshold gifts start 200k and goes to 350k miles.
are there that many people who have flown 250, 300, 350,,,400k miles?
i know i was at 296k miles last year and thought i was on the plane constantly. ( my wife wasn't willing to let me take the last trip to push me over 300k, wonder why, lol!)
So, how many miles do you fly on average? and how many last year?

I always wonder what the benefit is of accruing to Aeroplan beyond 100K. Why not go for UA1K as well? Or take a run at LH HON for that matter?
It just seems to me that earning top tier status on multiple programs could end up being a good thing as opposed to being SE several times over.

I fly over 200K a year - mixed on rewards, other airlines, and AC*SE totalling 160K or so.
I still could fly much more - but don't need to or want to.

I'll be looking forward to the bonus 300,000 Aeroplan miles this year.
I would like to have my flights count to other programs, but since 90% are flight pass related - Aeroplan it is. *sigh*
Last year: 327k, 107 flight segments, not counting the Rapidair flights, have no idea how many were done, I know a couple months it was 28 days of back and forth between YYZ & YUL.

Expect to hit 117K miles by the end of May, all on my own dime. How much of your 296K did you pay for?
I was planning on taking the summer off, but another FTer has talked me into another 70K for August (and that doesn't include our positioning flights to Asia which aren't booked yet)!
I also have 2 mini RTWs booked for Sept and Oct.

The vast majority of my *A flights are AC so no need to accumulate on another program to get benefits of an airline I don't fly often. TG comes second and I've thought about joining that but it doesn't really make sense for me. My wife and I do a good job of burning our AE points. Still able to IKK her to HKG if we plan more than 7 days out.

After that, not sure that the 15 eUpgrades would do it for me.

are there any 400k/year milers out there?
I know we have two 5 million mile guys so far at AC... I don't know who they are, but one of them is from Vancouver, so Deborah Anne Dods tells me

There seems to be threads about this on here. I may start one, but the crazy deals i find are generally last minute. Example, 5 days ago I looked for YWG-ZRH and it was 1500 each way departing tuesday...so i did what I normally do and look for other departure points and work business around that. Turns out NYC was the winner at 450 bucks each way. I didnt book. got on the plane and did my next trip, which was SCL-YYZ, and when i got to the lounge i figure, "BOOK THIS" now before it goes up...no. the YWG-ZRH trip was 1300 dollars cheaper each way. I find that if you travel mid week and take the weekend for relationship building where you are, then you can get some great deals. Just my opinion.
Cheers
