When R class = J
Is it just me or does it happen to everyone. Whenever I receive an upgrade my R is classed "Flexible Executive". This can't be right because I am not able to change the flight, receive a full refund should I cancel, or get bonus status miles. Why does AC do it? Is there some tax advantage to be gained by airline? Is it because they want to lay a guilt trip on me for receiving a really high priced favour? I have never purchased J because in my opinion it is way overpriced. I buy Z when it makes sense since it is closer to "real value" for the service provided. And even then R, especially when it comes out of the unsold seat pool, should not be valued more than LMU, maybe Z.
