Business flight passes allow bookings of multiple passengers on one PNR.

Is it safe to assume that one passenger can eUp the whole group?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

A specific related question is: What are the chances of finding a YUL to YVR Friday am itinerary with R=>3 as the Elite T+ booking window opens?

I'm hoping to use residual credits up this way.

Thanks all.

Not the whole group - you can only eUpgrade one traveling companion who is on the same PNR as you. In addition, you can upgrade any of your nominees.

I've got a slot left, so that still works. I can nominate one (booked on his own PNR) and travel with the other on the same PNR?

Yes, that works. Your nominee doesn't need to be on a separate PNR.

If you're trying to get at least one J seat, you may want to split the nominee on a separate PNR. Then request yourself + companion, and separately your nominee. This will let your upgrades go through if R=1 or R=2. If you request all three at once, R > 3 before any will pass and you'll be stuck at the mercy of the gate (where everyone clears given their own status).
