FA Arbitration Decision
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/repor...rticle2227953/
The union representing Air Canada flight attendants says an arbitrator has ruled in favour of management, imposing a tentative agreement that members rejected last month.
Mr. Moist described the ruling by federal arbitrator Elizabeth MacPherson as profoundly disappointing.

It is....
Just another example of unions being nothing but useless.
They negotiate, get a contract, gets rejected, bring it to court, have it imposed and then they are disapointed? Saying exactly what the membership wants to hear... nothing but a bunch of useless .... well you know
(Sorry if any FF out there are union reps or in any other way related, but it had to be said!)

I was sitting beside a ground crew guy on a flight last week and we got chatting to union contracts on FA's.
Let's just say the FA antics aren't appreciated by the "full-time guys" (as he put it) within AC, either.

Nothing as bad as what's going on with our colleagues to the south flying UA/CO are experiencing on their flights that's for sure.
“This government has been extremely irresponsible, and it’s their constant interference in collective bargaining that tipped the scales in favour of the company and against hard-working flight attendants,” Mr. Moist said.

He's obviously not your normal "ground staffer" or else he wouldn't be flying on his way to work beside me.

I was reading a similar article in the Calgary Herald today..
I think the arbitrators' logic made sense.. because the union execs went back to the trough twice and the second negotiation was as close to a voluntary resolution as a voluntary negotiation is going to get..
I think a fair ruling.. plus little chance for a successful appeal by the union.., so I think that's it for awhile with the FAs
