AC Hotel Stopover program

Just wondering if anyone has used the AC hotel layover/stopover option available at ac.com? I am flying AC-SYD-LHR (via YVR) and have a 10 hour connection at YVR. The AC site offers Holiday Inn YVR or Sandman properties and as I go to book it shows check in my landing date and out the next date. I land at 7 am or so and leave the same day late afternoon/early evening so am wondering if you use this option is the booked room for those hours in transit? I would not want to get to the hotel to find check in is after 2pm say but would want access to the room straight off the SYD flight. So curious to see if anyone has had experience in such a case??

The site does not show actual room availability times just check in and out dates-with check out being when I will already be in the UK

Thanks

Hmm I assume most on the board have not used this service??

If I use the service will let the board know so we have a record of it somewhere on FT as I am sure someone at some stage will wonder the same thing.

Cheers

I was hoping to use it this Friday but for some reason my itin doesn't show this option. I am flying LHR-YYZ on Friday evening and connecting on to YYZ-PVG on Saturday afternoon. I will probably call AC tomorrow to see what the deal is with this program.

I have been told that this is available only if the booking is made through AC.com as a "through flight" and the itinerary is offered as one of the choices. If I book using multi city function or through a 3rd party e.g. Expedia or travel agent, it will not qualify.

You also have to make the request at least 96 hours in advance of flight departure.
