December Statements
I haven't recieved my december Aeroplan statement yet, and was wondering if anyone else had. Normally I wouldn't be concerned, however I should be recieving some threshold coupons. If they send ones valid to Feb 2002, I don't mind waiting, but if there still sending Feb 2001 coupons I'd like them ASAP.

Any chance of scanning the front and back of the 2001 upgrade certificate (even low quality should be readable) so we can see all the conditions?
Fare class, date of expiry, advance booking hrs, applicability to short hauls/long hauls etc.

ABW & BB: Sorry no scanner. Here's an eyeballed scan.
2001 Aeroplan Elite North American Upgrade Certificate:
Fare classes = Y,M,B,H,V (no T, late intro probably missed the print deadline)
Date of Expiry = Feb 28, 2002
Advance booking hrs = 72
Applicability to short hauls/long hauls = Mexico City has been added to Canadian points of origin/destination and requires 2 coupons
There are a few text changes from the 2000 certificates:
In the VALIDITY section:
"Y,M,B,H or V fare ticket" changes to "Y,M,B,H or V booking class"
Canadian Airlines and Canadian Regional have been added as operating airlines
"Buy A Ticket & Claim A Free Companion Ticket" added to the 'not valid' list
Under TRANSFERABILITY and HOW TO USE THIS UPGRADE CERTIFICATE sections the following is added:
"Call your travel agent or local Air Canada reservations office and inform the agent that you wish to use an Aeroplan Elite North America Upgrade Certificate".
In the AT CHECKIN section add:
Fill in your name and Aeroplan number below
That appears to be it.
Cheers

The addition of Mexico is likely because that was the language on the CP stickers (i.e. North America: Canada, US and Mexico) and they could be used on the daily YYZ-MEX flight. With that flight now an AC designator, it just brings things in line. My understanding is that upgrades cannot be used on codeshare partner metal flights even with an AC designator, and if AC metal, booking must be with AC not codeshare partner.
