Air Canada reports October traffic
MONTREAL, Nov. 28 /CNW/ - Air Canada and Canadian Airlines flew 3.4 per cent more revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in October 2000 than flown by the two carriers in the same month of 1999, according to preliminary traffic figures. Capacity increased by 4.9 per cent, resulting in a passenger load factor of 69.5 per cent, compared with 70.4 per cent in October 1999.
According to Danielle Poudrette, Vice President, Marketing, "Despite a number of unfavourable contributing factors relating to Canadian's migration to Air Canada's ResIII system, our Air Canada/Canadian Airlines combined traffic for October was comparable to the aggregate traffic performance of the largest U.S. carriers".
