I'm amazed at how quickly people forget the things they complained about before - for some people there is never enough to keep them happy!

Have you forgotten the old furniture with stuffing poking out and broken wood frames? All replaced
Have you forgotten ratty carpet buckling and threadbare? All replaced
Have you forgotten that often there weren't enough seats? Considerably more seating now provided.

If they would have gutted the whole lounge and replaced it with completely new 2010 version you would have been making nasty comments about how could AC afford a new lougne when money is so tight!!

???????

First, the carpet was not replaced. If it was, then the replacement is some old carpet taken from somewhere else, not a brand new carpet.
Second, adding chairs without adding space does not exactly "improve" the quality of the lounge. In fact, the general seating area now feels like the back of an A319 minus the AVOD.
Given how all the other lounges have been brought up to standard, what was done to YVR Domestic is laughable.

As for the rest, speak for yourself. I have never - and will never - complain when Air canada spends money to provide a better customer experience.

Ok, I'm in the YVR MLL right now, and really ... is the point of those stupid Plastic Ghost buster Cell phone signs no one obligues by them anyways. By my count right now 5 people talking at rather louder conversation levels in the area. Why doesn't someone just round them up and toss them out. Oh wait make that 6 now as someones cell just rang!!!!

There is no transborder lounge in YYC after you clear US customs, so that might make the decision for you.
