There is now an excellent summary of all the details in this thread

(not that most of us are newbies, but it is a great summary of the mini RTW)
Business is sort of like glorified economy in Europe, isn't it?

Good to know that 75K has remained unchanged.. I'm seriously going to consider mini-RTW is Y maybe for next summer..^

What's a full RTW worth? i guess there's many variances on it.

So I take it that you'll be going for the mini-RTW in business?.. instead of first? What's the diff now?

Do you have a link for the web page? Mine doesn't show a price.

Hope you got one case for free. When an item scans incorrectly, you are supposed to get the first item for free.

BTW, I've been stocking up on Quaker Crispy Minis (Butter Popcorn flavor is so good ). They're on sale at 3/$5, and I got a coupon through email for 300 bonus pts when I purchase 3. I probably have 15 bags now!

Agreed.. one item for free.. and every other case adjusted down to the advertised price..

I guess paying for points isn't a bad thing if you add up the cost of airfare..

For me I like to get savings first, then points.. that way my base fare redemptions are truly free.

Which location? As mentioned, mine (Vaughan) does not show a price even when product is added to my shopping list.

You need a coupon (came in the June 30 email) for the 300 bonus pts with Crispy Minis.

TIA

This week at Sobeys (GTA)--Buy 4 Carnation Evaporated milk cans at 1.99 each, get 800 Sobey's points=400 AP.

Total cost then $7.96 and 400AP points-less than 2 cents a point.

Now I hope someone in the house will find some recipes to use them up

Once again, Sobeys gas very different specials and points offers depending on store locations, even within Toronto GTA area. This offer is not available at my nearest store but seems to be available outside the down/mid town area.

It's no wonder that points frequently do not post in their system - they have too many different offers for even them to keep track of. I now always check before leaving the store, and then go to the customer service desk to have it fixed, which takes time and is annoying. I'd say that my success is 50/50.

2 cents a point is over budget for me.. The coke packs make more sense..

We need something like 1 cent per point to break even..

Sobeys' email received on Aug 15 had some nice offers. Mine contained 3 coupons.

  • Earn 450 bonus pts when you spend $35 in a single transaction between Aug 15 and Sept 1.
  • Earn 450 bonus pts when you shop 3 times between Aug 15 and Sept 1.
  • Earn 1300 bonus pts when you shop 3 times and spend $100 or more between Aug 15 and Sept 1.

The 3rd offer is of no interest to me, but have already used the first 2 coupons and got 900 bonus pts. The 2nd one is particularly interesting because there is no minimum spend.

Another FTer received similar but slightly different coupons.

  • Earn 400 bonus pts when you spend $30 in a single transaction between Aug 15 and Sept 1.
  • Earn 400 bonus pts when you shop 2 times between Aug 15 and Sept 1.
  • Earn 800 bonus pts when you shop 2 times and spend $60 or more between Aug 15 and Sept 1.

I received coupon: earn 185 points when you spend >$60

Maybe they know I shop there only once every 2-3 months now, whereas in the past I shopped 3x per month. Leslieville Loblaws is my haunt (again) even as I no longer live in that area.

You'd think they would win me back using a more generous offer?

Are these Sobey's points or AE points? If Sobey points.. cut everything above in half for AE..
