- Name of the hotel:
Ibis Limoges Nord

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
No. Not at all. Very bad.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room, received same despite better quality rooms available. Given a “new” excuse for non-upgrade – no cleaners available to clean the superior rooms. Did ask what would have happened if we had booked superior was told we would have been downgraded and a refund of 10€ made. ( Superior in this Ibis is tea / coffee and a kettle – nothing more )

- How are the rooms?
The room has been refurbished in the last year – but they kept the old carpet for some strange reason.

- What was good and what was bad?
Good: Free car park. Location just off motorway.

Bad:
Rather hard mattress, uncomfortable pillow. Old carpet, with building marks.

I am diabetic. In the past (and at other hotels in group) where there is no fridge / mini bar the hotel keeps my insulin in a special fridge in the kitchen. This has occurred at this hotel before without a problem. On this occasion the receptionist (who spoke good English) put it directly in the freezer. Was not told about this in the morning. Possible it would have killed me if I had not noticed. Long story short. No one cared. Will do full review of stay later if Accor comeback to me (been 2 months now).

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
N/A

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
One drink voucher was given. Very grudgingly. Good for house beer / tea / coffee.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
No – not in a million years!

Name of the hotel:
Hotel Mercure Andorra

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes. Been back a few times now.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked superior, received Junior Suite. Platinum recognition.

- How are the rooms?
The rooms had Nespresso Machine, and free ( well stocked ) mini bar. Plenty of plug sockets and working air conditioning

- What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Large room. Plenty of plug sockets, good(ish) Wi-Fi. Spa and pool excellent and included in price. Location good for shopping. Has own car park. Easy walking distance of most things in the centre of Andorra. Large range of buffet items for breakfast hot and cold (including wine). Much cheaper to pre book breakfast than on the day.

Bad:
Rather hard mattress, but that’s the Spanish default.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
N/A

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
Two drink vouchers happily given. Good for beer or soft drinks.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Yes, and have.

- Name of the hotel:
Mercure Toulouse Aéroport Golf de Seilh

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes – have stayed here many times and service and status recognition consistently good.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, received Privilege ( Golf View )

- How are the rooms?
The room overlooks the large golf course, and in the distance the airport. Free mini bar. Bathtub and shower, robes and slippers.

- What was good and what was bad?

Breakfast is good. There are some limited free spaces in the hotel underground car park, or the large outside shared free carpark is available. They have an airport shuttle during the week that is free ( weekends taxi about 25€ )

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
N/A

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
Two drinks voucher – seemed to be good for almost anything.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Yes, and have, and will.

Fairmont San Francisco

What is your Le Club status?
Gold

Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Not really

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked an entry level room and received just that (didn’t bother to complain since it was a business trip, I was busy all the time and basically just slept at the hotel).

How are the rooms?
Spacious enough for one person but smelly. Uncomfortable hard bed. View to gloomy inner courtyard. Poor bathroom amenities: had to request everything from dental to shaving kits. Not a big deal but inconvenient. The room description mentioned bathrobe but I couldn’t find one.

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
- Location

Bad:
- Loyalty treatment
- Slow and indifferent service at restaurant
- Lack of spa

Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
n/a

What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
A drink voucher. Used it at breakfast for a pot of coffee which was then charged to my room (but fixed at check-out when I pointed it out).

Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Probably not.

Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg

What is your Le Club status?
Gold

Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked collection suite, received prestige suite (double upgrade).

How are the rooms?
Newly refurbished, 45 sqm. Separate living room with couch, two armchairs and working desk, bedroom with king size bed, armchair and divan, bathroom with only bathtub and one sink. Two TVs, Nespresso machine, safe, Hermes toiletries, one big bottle of Evian water and several small Evian bottles. Felt something was missing for a suite: fresh flowers perhaps, maybe upgraded bathroom amenities such as hand lotion or perfume that the hotel offered a few years ago in junior suite.

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
- Central location
- Efective housekeeping
- Excellent bar

Bad:
- Inconvenient check-in process and nonexistent loyalty recognition at check-in due to inexperienced front desk agent
- Very limited breakfast selection for the high price
- No sauna or pool, just tiny and stinky steam cabin the hotel called hammam

Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
No lounge

What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
- Early check-in at 12 pm (an hour after arrival and consultancy with a guest relations agent)
- Welcome drink for two persons to be used for any drinks
- Handwritten welcome card from GM, two full bottles of Laurent Perrier champagne (must be mistake), plus nut and fruit mix
- Newspaper delivered to room each morning
- Late check-out at 4:30 pm

ibis Styles Cairns Hotel

- Name of the hotel:
ibis Styles Cairns Hotel

- What is your Le Club status?

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
No – Late arrival last night/early Sunday morning (Sat. 8 Dec.) from Melbourne at 1am (I emailed the hotel 2 days in advance about our late arrival) . Reception person impolite and grumpy and demanded my id (drivers licence) which was in our car even though I showed her my Plat. Card and cc, I used to book the hotel.
She asked if I still wanted a drink voucher and told us to park our hire car on the street.
I had to navigate my way through the heavy rain and drunk people fighting and arguing on the street back to reception twice.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, received standard

- How are the rooms?
The room was terrible, old and run-down located on ground floor facing main Road (Florence Street). The curtains were mouldy, black dust and dirt on the ceiling near and around the AC unit. The ceiling fan was damaged and hanging out of the ceiling. Outside it was very noisy with drunk people fighting and arguing on the street until 5am.

- What was good and what was bad?
No breakfast included and no safe car parking.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
N/A

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
One drink voucher.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Not value for money and I will never return. Terrible customer service and no status recognition whatsoever.

while the customer service and quality of the rooms do sound well below an acceptable standard, having to present photo ID upon check in is industry standard, and it isn't the hotel's fault it was left in the car. Frankly, if a hotel did not request I present photo ID, I would be concerned. Without a photo ID check, I could have picked up John Smith's wallet off the ground and started using his Plat card and credit card willy nilly.

Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Booked standard room and upgraded to large suite. I've stayed here 12-15 times and this is the second time I was upgraded to a suite, and twice to a junior suite.
How are the rooms? The suite is very large and still in excellent condition. Sprawling bathroom, especially the shower, it could hold 8 people probably. The only minor negative is the sofa in the living room is too firm and not comfortable.
What was good and what was bad?
Good
: Fantastic upgrade, convenient location, good value.
Bad: Check in took forever, perhaps because I used points to offset the rate (?). The lounge was quite full at breakfast, and the the cook was not manning the egg station one morning.
Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? Yes, it's nice although seating can be limited when it's raining and everyone is inside.
What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? Received standard welcome drink coupon, but no gift or fruit in room (this happens about half of the time I stay here, but never mention anything since it's not a big deal). Granted late checkout without any challenge.
Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Good value and yes, I will return.

Agree totally ...it was the way the person asked in a rude demanding manner.

- Name of the hotel:
Sofitel Jinan Silver Plaza

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes. This is my fifth or so stay at this property this year (first as a Platinum member), and we are always pleased.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Luxury Room. I'm not sure what I received. The paperwork said Luxury Club Room and I believe this is what we got, however it is identical in size and layout of the Junior Suite that I usually receive when I book a Luxury Room. I looked around the room and honestly could not find a difference.

- How are the rooms?
The hotel is built in 1999 but the rooms are in quite good shape. The air conditioning is centrally controlled (a normal occurance in China) and always set very warm in Winter. I request a light blanket at this hotel, which I use instead of the usual quilt. The rooms are a good size with plenty of storage space.

- What was good and what was bad?
Club lounge staff are fantastic. I requested an early check-in, and asked the hotel to call us two days prior to our stay to confirm this, which they did. Requests on my profile were granted, such as extra clothes hangers in the closet. Late check of 3pm out also granted two days prior to our arrival.

Centrally controlled heating too hot.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
Lounge is quite good and located on the 47th floor. Breakfast offers some made-to-order options.

We only attended Happy Hour one of the three evenings and found the food adequate.

Lounge staff are very friendly, speak a good-enough level of English and remember tea orders by your second stay.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
Two drink vouchers given - only good for soft drink, juice, tea and coffee - quite disappointing for a Sofitel.

Fruit platter in the room on arrival with a handwritten note from the GM. There was mention of 'sweets' on the welcome letter and the Club manager, who escorted us to our room, mentioned this to me, but I misunderstood him and when I said "OK, great" (thinking he had asked if we would like them delivered now) he looked confused and the sweets never came. Presumably, he had asked me something else or misunderstood my "OK, great". Out of embarrassment, I did not follow up.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Value is good and we are always very happy to return. There are usually some Members Red Hot rooms rates available a couple weeks in advance, which offer good value. These have been on offer all year so far.

I will post a full review later this week when I have some time.

- Name of the hotel:

Sofitel Grand Sopot

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Classic Room park-side, and received Superior Room on the sea side with balcony. Possibly a three level upgrade.

There are probably about 13 or 14 different room types out of a hotel where there are only 129 rooms.

We were happy about the upgrade as the hotel was almost full on one of the nights we stayed due to a wedding and a conference.

- How are the rooms?
The room was on the small size (25sqm ) but this was expected due to age and type of property. The TV could have been mounted on the wall, and this would have given more space in the room and desk.

- What was good and what was bad?
Good: Lovely bed (as expected) and attentive, and friendly service and interaction with staff at every level. Good quality toiletries, and very nice breakfast buffet and special cooked selections. Evening restaurant had a 15% discount for Platinum members when we were there.

Bad: Very few unused plugs in room. Not enough desk space – it was taken up by the TV and tea and coffee, uncomfortable chairs when sitting at desk, but fine for lounging around in ….

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
No lounge. This was a shame.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
One drink voucher was given for two persons, we could have a choice of anything inc Champaign on the drinks menu up to a value of 60 PLZ per drink. Very satisfied with glass of good quality champion ( new bottle opened for us and probably rest not used that day ) and a cocktail.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Yes, but we would try to check if they were having any function, as on the day that this was on the whole staff seemed extra stressed.
