Looks very nice. The Mercure near RUN airport is the only Accor option at the moment on the island.

The 419-room Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit was announced today as the first Fairmont in Thailand; based on the press image, this will take the place of the former Hotel Windsor Suites, which was to undergo renovations and initially join Accor as a Grand Mercure, so this is a definite upgrade.

quite a surprise...the old Windsor was a 25-30 USD hotel; they must have invested a lot for the renovation
I think first it was planned as just a Mercure...later Grand Mercure and now even Fairmont....however the differences between luxury brands (for example Fairmont) and premium (for example Grand Mercure) are sometimes blurry

its just 100 meters from another Accor property, the Novotel Sukhumvit 20, which is actually not bad (with lounge, large swimming pool etc.)...as Fairmont is 2 level higher (from midscale to luxury) I expect it to be really great!

There is a Mondrian in Doha. It's pretty useless for Accor members, no earned points...

I really like the Novotel Soi 20. The price point has been good. The pool is nice, they lounge had fantastic staff pre-covid and the breakfast is always something to look forward to, although the pre-covid Platinum menu no longer exists.

agree! good value for money...and always an upgrade as Platinum...location is also not bad, but a bit a walk into the main road if you do not take a taxi, grab, bolt...
