- Name of the hotel: Novotel Hamilton Tainui, New Zealand

- What is your ALL status? Diamond

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Superior Room was booked for both stays. Upgraded to Executive Suite for a stay earlier this week and then Executive Room later in the week.

- How are the rooms? Rooms are modern, well equipped and comfortable. They appear to have been renovated not too long ago.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Rooms are lovely, food in restaurant amazing. Accommodated request for breakfast to be delivered and packed to go (this was the complimentary breakfast for being a diamond member). So much food and really well packed! Very impressive!

Bad: Staff in restaurant in the evening need to improve their customer service. Gym was limited.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? No lounge available.

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? Received the standard drink vouchers for beer, wine or soft drink. Received some brownies and chocolates on first stay. Then freshly baked cookies and fruit on second stay.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Value for money is great and will definitely return.

Thanks for the short review and welcome to Flyertalk . As you are a Diamond member, we are very much looking forward reading your experiences here.
Would you mind telling us and editing your post to precise the city/country where this hotel is ? I have to admit my ignorance. Of course, I could check online but I believe it will be be beneficial to have this information in the post.
This is a comment that is valid for everyone, including me of course. We are all somewhat "biased" when it comes to some cities/areas in our country or region thinking that everyone knows but it can be totally unknown for people from other regions. Just a suggestion

- Name of the hotel: Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii

- What is your ALL status? Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes, although the rooms need a refresh.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Booked Partial Ocean View, received Ocean View, which is considered a one category upgrade. However, the ocean was not visible until one stepped onto the patio and looked at a sharp angle, and only then was the ocean barely visible (from the fourth floor).

- How are the rooms? They are showing their age and need a refresh, not necessarily a complete renovation. Especially needed are a fresh coat of paint and more easily accessible outlets. The bed was very comfortable.

- What was good and what was bad? Good: friendly service, nice balcony, good air con, good sound proofing, clean, comfortable bed, upscale toiletries. Bad: pool/beach chairs were cheap, room in need of a refresh (see above), no slippers or bathrobes.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? No

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? See this post.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Not sure. Even with their current promotion of buy 1 night, get 1 night free, it's still quite pricey. Would probably wait until rooms are refreshed, unless a very sweet deal came along.

.
What sort of acrobatics do you need to perform to see the ocean from the Partial Ocean View Room?????
