The policy worked out for me. I managed to re-qualify for 2022 Diamond before the end of July. I already had the stay booked, so I didn't have to plan anything at all. It makes it nice and easy!

Now I'm confused again.
175 nights means that you are including H1 2020 nights (and Status Points) in your total (either with or without the 30 bonus nights I assume you received during H1 as a current Platinum).
I gathered from some other people who posted in this thread that we cannot qualify for 2022 using H1 + H2 2020 nights even if we obtain 26.000 Status Points (for 2022 Diamond) or 60 Nights (for 2022 Platinum) either including or not including 50% bonus nights (current Platinum) or 50% Status Points (current Diamond) by the end of 2020.
I gathered that H1 2020 Nights and Status Points now count for nothing, and that we effectively start from zero on 1st July 2020 and have 18 months to collect either 60 nights (Platinum) or 26,000 Status Points (Diamond) for 2022 Status.
Is this correct or is @3544quebec just 5,302 Status Points away from Diamond for 2022 providing he or she gets them by 31 December 2020 ? (including or not including the 50% bonus Status Points)

This is different from CanadaDH who has already spent enough in 2020 H2 alone to qualify for Diamond in 2022 (and 2021).
Most of what you are saying is correct, except when you write "I gathered that H1 2020 Nights and Status Points now count for nothing". They count for 2021 qualification but not 2022 qualification. In my situation I have spent enough in 2020 H2 to qualify for Plat in 2022 but my spend in 2020 H1 was not useless: it helped me to qualify for Diamond from August 2020 to December 2021.

I'm right around 56,000 status points YTD, and 28 nights. But, that's probably where I will finish 2020, since I don't have any additional vacation time planned until January.

To quote Scripture - it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a Mantra guest to qualify for Diamond Status in ALL

When you are upgraded to Silver, Gold or Platinum « Elite » status level during a year, your status is valid until 31 December of the year after they were obtained.

I'll also be taking advantage of this rollover to reach Platinum.
I'm currently Gold with 34 status nights (including the 15 bonus nights) and have 32 nights booked until the end of the year, in Brazil.
Great hotel options and prices in Brazil, where I'm spending a couple of months.
I'll be staying in 14 different hotels and I'm looking forward to see how they're dealing with the covid situation, especially breakfast.

I commenced my 2 weeks self-isolation in March and enjoyed it so much that I forgot to leave. I now qualify for the Monastic Rate hence the low Status Points.

you will need A$43000 spends for ALL Diamonds which at A$150/night you will reach Diamond at 287 nights
Would be interesting if the member stays at Ibis in asian countries where rate can go down all the way to A$20/ nights
even if they book 3 rooms all the time they need 720 nights to reach Diamond!

By the way, in the summer of 2017, I stayed at an ibis in Poland paying around 15 EUR / night.
I haven't seen such low rates recently, but it's possible to find nights which are around 30 EUR / night.
