Review Mercure Lille Centre Grand Place (13 Photos)

Mercure Lille Centre Grand Place

A goodand recommendable Mercure hotel in the heart of Lille (north of France, close to border with Belgium, for those of you who are not familiar with French cities).

Room

I had booked a Privilege room and was upgraded to Junior Suite. Drink voucher was given but there was neitherwelcome gift, nor welcome letter in room. This is the only "problem" I have to report for this hotel.

IMO, it's more a large room rather than a Junior Suite because there was no separate area for the Sofa/armchair. But it was a comfy and pleasant room to stay in with all amenities you can expect in that kind of hotels/room category (safety box, Nespresso machine, minibar, closet, large bathroom, slippers, bathrobe, etc).

Nice view from the room:

Dining

I didn't have any meal at the restaurant (I just used my drink voucher at the bar). But here are some pictures of the bar/restaurant area. Very modern and nice !

There's quite a few new Mercures popping up in China, which are also quite decent (Mercure Yangzhou, Mercure Nanjing Olympic Centre, Mercure Hangzhou West Lake). I would definitely place them above the aging Novotels (obviously not above new Novotels).

Thanks for the review, Goldorak!
